Earth Day Natural Dye
Saint George Salon: A creative afternoon hosted by The Wreath Forager

Destination Hastings presents Spring Thing, a street fair in honor of Earth Day and local business.Saint George Salon is hosting a booth and The Wreath Forager will be leading a natural dye tutorial.

Using food prep scraps from Saint George, last season’s dried flowers and fresh flowers from Michelle’s garden, you will create your own natural bundle dye. Versatile organic cotton bandanas will be provided–great as a neck or headscarf, headband, or table linen for your home.

Tickets are $35: includes one cotton bandana. Plan on 15-20 minutes to complete your bundle, then leave the project to steam so that the dye melds with the fabric (please account for time to return to pick up your project (about an hour of steaming required). Workshop time slot selection is required as space is limited in each session, please arrive at the start of your session. This workshop is for adults and children alike! Children must be supervised.

Botanical Tea Party and Private Shopping
Saint George Salon: A creative afternoon hosted by The Wreath Forager

Join Kate Sonders Solomon and Michelle Adams in the charming upstairs private dining room at Saint George Bistro for a DIY tea party and private shopping experience to celebrate the all the moms.

You’ll be welcomed with Saint George’s perfect little gougères and a glass of bubbly. Kate will lead the group through a selection of finger sandwiches and bites fit for a beautiful and delicious tea party. We will assemble tea trays, add in some extra treats from Saint George, and take plenty of photos.

At the end of class enjoy your creations alongside fine loose leaf tea from Teagevity. We’ll send you off with recipes and you’ll have the chance to shop handmade botanical gifts from Michelle (@thewreathforager).

Tickets are $135 – includes bites, a glass of bubbly, and tea from Saint George, and all materials/instruction for the cooking classes (also covers gratuity for restaurant staff and sales tax).

RiverArts Chamber Music Series

On Sunday, May 12 at 4:00 PM, at South Church, 343 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry RiverArts will celebrate Mother’s Day with a special Chamber Music Performance. In honor of both Schubert and motherhood, we will hear two of Schubert’s enduring chamber works along with two Schubert inspired contemporary pieces, one of which in a world premiere performance commissioned specifically for this Mother’s Day concert. more info
 

Lifeway Network Gala

Please be our guest at the 2024 Event Towards New Life. This annual gala is a cherished evening of community in support of the fight against human trafficking as well as the women who have survived a trafficking experience and call LifeWay Network home.

We’re so pleased to have returned to our roots at Wallace Hall in the Church of Saint Ignatius Loyola for this year’s Event Towards New Life, to be held May 16, 2024. Join us for hors d’œuvres, beverages, a (live?) and silent auction, and presentations by special guests. You are an important part of LifeWay’s work, and we hope that you’ll celebrate with us.

BloomyCheese, Chocolate & Self Care

I know, I know, cheese and a workout sounds…odd. But this will be our third go with a candlelit barre class followed by a cheese and chocolate tasting at the wonderful Barre3 Rivertowns studio in Dobbs Ferry, and it is always an absolute blast. Owner Becca has created such a special space that is welcoming to all, and this is a great opportunity to try out Barre3 if you haven’t yet.

Abbott House is excited to announce the Dave Wade Memorial Golf Outing on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Pelham Country Club! RiverArts® Presents 9th Annual Music Tour

A Full Day of FREE Live Music 

The 9th annual RiverArts Music Tour will feature 300+ musicians across 30+ venues, with live music on the hour from 11am to 9pm in a celebration of music throughout the Rivertowns. This year, attendees may visit HERE to gain early access to the full digital Music Tour map to see acts and venues near them. Printed maps will be available at libraries and community centers throughout the Rivertowns. Attendees are encouraged to visit RiverArtsMusicTour.com and the RiverArts social channels to plan their route, learn more about each act, and to stay up to date on schedule changes. 

 

Summer Solstice Salon
Saint George Salon: A creative afternoon hosted by The Wreath Forager

Join Kate Sonders Solomon and Michelle Adams in the charming upstairs private dining room at Saint George Bistro for a botanical workshop to celebrate the blooms of Spring and Summer.

You’ll be welcomed with a glass of French rosé and a cheese board from Saint George. Then we’ll head into a natural dye tutorial from Michelle. Using last season’s dried flowers, traditional dye plants, and fresh flowers from Michelle’s garden, you will create your own natural bundle dye. Versatile organic cotton bandanas will be provided–great as a neck or headscarf, headband, or table linen for your home.

As the flowers meld with the fabric, we’ll move onto a cooking project with Kate. You will learn how to make a fresh pasta pressed with edible flowers and herbs, and we’ll brighten things up with a seasonal farmer’s market salad. Kate’s receipes are simple in technique, yet complex in flavor–always the best combination of delicious and beautiful.

We’ll finish the meal with dessert from Saint George, and then send you off with recipes and dye projects from the class.

Tickets are $175 – includes wine, cheese, and dessert from Saint George, and all materials/instruction for the cooking and dye classes (also covers gratuity for restaurant staff and sales tax).
